Leather Working Group is a stakeholder group in the leather industry. 
Their purpose is to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by certifying and assessing leather manufacturers.
In addition, a rating system has been created - gold, silver and bronze – that should help the tanneries ensuring improvements as well as compliance with environmental requirements and performance and promote sustainable and appropriate environmental practices.
